McConnell explaining why
he was "proud to support" gun control

During 2022 Mitch McConnell was censured by a number of Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) county organizations regarding his vote for the "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act". That Democrat supported legislation infringes upon Second Amendment rights by providing financial support to states that pass "Red Flag Flaws".

Two more states adopted "Red Flag Laws" in May 2023: Michigan Minnesota. You can't deny that Mitch McConnell is an effective politician.

Red Flag Laws are an infringement of the Second Amendment because they allow the confiscation of firearms from citizens who have committed no crimes. In addition, Red Flag laws are an infringement of the rights of Americans who are entitled to the presumption of innocence under the law.

Red Flag Laws allow firearms to be seized upon the basis of a "complaint" (in some cases an anonymous complaint). The victim of the complaint and gun seizure is then required to prove to a court of law that the complaint was not valid. This turns the American justice system on its head. The fiream owner is "presumed guilty" until they can prove that they are innocent.

In RPK's zeal to protect McConnell from the public criticism which the censures represent (Click Here to read those original censures), the Republican Party of Kentucky has produced a decision where they say that the censures are "out of order". They base this upon a bizarre and twisted reading of "Robert's Rules of Order". (Click Here to read the relevant page - please read the footnote). Ignoring the footnote, RPK concludes Robert's Rules prohibits such censures. Their claim is without precedent. We can find no other occasion, since Robert's Rules was first published in 1876, where censures such as these were ruled out of order based upon Robert's Rules of Order. Not even Mitch McConnell, who opposed the Republican National Committee's censures of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, came up with that argument.

In response to the Republican Party of Kentucky's attack on our First Amendment rights to express our political dissent, the Jessamine County Republican Party has adopted a two part strategy.

First, we are re-publishing the original censure resolution without the word "censure" in the revised resolution. We are referring to the new publication as a "Declaration of Reprimand". The "Declaration of" language is a nod to the "Declaration of Independence" of the United States. In part, that document's is/was a reprimand (censure) of the King of England. The Declaration of Independence systematically set out the basis for the King of England's reprimand.

NOTE:   Hardin County has already published its own reprimand of Mitch McConnell.

Each of the reprimands listed below were presented to their respective Republican Party of Kentucky county parties and were adopted and passed by majority vote of that county party. Each document systematically sets out the basis for the reprimand that each county has published against Senator Mitch McConnell.

Second, Hardin County has filed an appeal/complaint to the Republican National Committee in opposition to the decision of the Republican Party of Kentucky to rule county censures "Out of Order". It was Hardin County's censure that sparked the complaint from its own former Chair to the 2nd district Republican Party of Kentucky. The 2nd district decision led to the decision of the state to rule censures "Out of Order".

Jessamine County has written a letter to the Republican National Committee (Click Here for that lettter) and is urging the RNC to act on the Hardin County complaint/appeal. We are also calling upon all other Kentucky County Republican Party organizations to write to the RNC and support the Hardin appeal.

The following is a list of
Republican Party of Kentucky County Organizations
that have adopted Declarations of Reprimand against Mitch McConnell

Hardin County - contact Bobbie Coleman, email: bobbie.coleman71@gmail.com, phone (217) 240-4572   Letter to RNC

Jessamine County - contact Bob Barney, email: bob@compulife.com, phone (859) 552-4644   Letter to RNC

And finally, if your county has tabled a DRAFT reprimand document, and put it up for a yes or no vote, and the reprimand was DEFEATED by a majority of your County or Executive committee, then we will be happy to list you and your DRAFT/DEFEATED reprimand document.

NOTE: Some of McConnell's apologists are saying "look, they ONLY have a few counties" that have reprimanded McConnell, and yet we know that there are Republican Party County chairs and vice chairs who will NOT permit the matter to come up in their meetings for a vote.

If you are faced with this sort of opposition from your county chair, you can petition a meeting of your county's governing committee by having 5 members of the county's governing committee submitted a "petition" for a meeting on that matter. The Rules of the Republican Party of Kentucky state:
4.03 (a) Special meetings of the County Committee may be called by the County Chairman or on petition in writing signed by five (5) members of the County Committee and transmitted to the County Chairman. Such petition by members shall state the purpose of such meeting. Any such special meeting shall require at least five (5) business days written notice to all members of the County Committee.
